Celebrating peaches and Lexington County Peach Festival, Michelin Tire Company annually sponsors the Peachy Art awards for students at Gilbert public schools. With help and leadership from art teachers at Gilbert High, Gilbert Middle, Gilbert Elementary and Gilbert Primary Schools, students express their talent; and winners receive $35 for first place awards, $25 for second place awards, and $15 for third place awards. On June 2, Randy Crutfield from Michelin joined Jill Sharpe, Peachy Art Committee Chair, in honoring this year’s art winners and presenting their awards.
This year’s winners from Gilbert Primary School:
Kindergarten: Jesus Zavala, 1st place; Camryn Sox, 2nd place; and Sydney Keisler, 3rd place.
1st grade: Lydia Roxburgh,1st place; Colden Harman,2nd place; and Marena Fleming, 3rd place.
2nd grade: Bryan Crowell,1st place; Jose Aguilera, 2nd place; and Drayton Smith, 3rd place.
This year’s winners from Gilbert Elementary School:
3rd grade: Connor Lundy, 1st place; Ethan Oswald, 2nd place; Gabriel Martinez, 3rd place; and Megan Sooter, Honorable Mention.
4th grade: Danica Myers, 1st place; Nathaniel Oxendine, 2nd place; Autumn Bradley, 3rd place; and Amanda Burroughs, Honorable Mention.
